AFFORDABLE TURBINE CHASSIS DESIGN

WITH 1KW TO 2KW POTENTIAL. (DEPENDING ON PMG USED).

My chassis fitted with own low wind blades in this photo

Developed from my own experimental turbine designs, 2 are shown on video at    http://www.youtube.com/user/wind4watts  .

This robust hand made autofurling design is built to withstand the worst wind conditions, and are alot more substancial than most other types, they weigh 3.5kg and produce great power from wind energy (comparitive or higher to similar using same pmg), utilising easily sourced components.

This all steel guaranteed design coped easily with the fierce 70-88mph gusts we had begining of March, and similar gales and storms over the past year it could probably even withstand a mast fall with minimal or no damage to actual chassis. This unit lowers the initial investment price and so reduces cost of home produced elecricity. These produce up to 46 Amps in 12 volt mode during windy periods, and good outputs even in moderate winds, see the output curves of all 3 pmg's  at   http//:www.futurenergy.co.uk  outputs obviously depends largely on windspeed/ wind energy available in your area, and the height the turbine is mounted at.

Use chassis with these futurenergy bladesets very smooth running & easy to balance (an alloy balancing device is included with every set).

                                                                          Main features include.

  1. Extreemly competetive price for a wind turbine unit, even after supplying your own pmg and blade set, the same output turbines using the same pmg and blades elsewhere work out around £200-240 more.
  2. Tough compact weather resistant welded steel construction utilising steel tubing, that is built to last the course, 2 year warranty on the whole chassis, if it breaks I willl fix it!.
  3. Utilises the powerful 7kg futurenergy  pmg 12-24 or 48 Volt rated, which are readily available mail order from futurenergy.co.uk , included instructions and drawings mean very simple assembly in 20-30 minutes using just 10+13mm spanners and pliers.
  4. Tried and tested reliable autofurling  tail unit, means no shutdowns are needed even in storms. Furls out in high winds 40mph only approx to gain max power.
  5. Built  units are available within a few  days, ( i have 2-3 units almost finished at any time) .
  6. Full e mail help/ support from myself if at all needed after delivery. Easy to understand and  with engineering type drawings &  instructions included. These cover the assembly and simple wiring from the pmg to rectifiers, and to ground, ( further advice on this site ).
  7. Can be posted almost anywhere, basic package is 1 metre long and just a 3.5  Kilo
  8. Optional furl 'lock out' included (easily reversible) up to 2kw  with 48v pmg.

Total cost to build a 1-1.4kw wind turbine.

Rotor cost                                £175.50 or you could use other suitable blades (see DIY PAGE).

pmg cost                                  £150   (plus p+p)

This chassis/ tail assembly £130.00    (postage U.K £10.00 e.u. £25).

Under £480.00, normal cost for similar U.K. turbine £700.

Costs little more than a 300watt rated Aeolus on photo page!.

Output graphs can help you choose the most suitable permanent magnet generator (pmg)  model to suit your needs please look on futurenergy site

                                           PHOTOS OF THE FUTURENERGY PMG

FE1012U  12v Volt rated 46 Amp max  660 w  charge 12 volt batteries in parallel, ideal home/       boats, simple connection, probably best for low wind areas

FE1024U  24 Volt rated       34 Amp max 1140w charge 12v batteries in pairs, my choice.
FE1048U  48 Volt  rated      26 Amp max  1400w  ideal for 4 battery bank high wind areas as has a bit of a 'lazy' power curve in lower winds,  ideal grid tie.

Pmg's also from renewable components. I can also supply the same basic unit to fit the  excellent quality Ginlong pmg's  (the unit fitted on turbine photo in top left corner) which have become very popular in the U.S. and are used by at least one well known turbine supplier T.L.G. . The larger 1500w pmg  unit does require a big blade set to match it's big potential output . Please liase with me as modifications will be needed.

The instructions include engineering diagrams pointing out all points in assembly including rectifier connection (further advice on this site).

ROBUST NON FURLING MODEL NOW AVAILABLE, RUGGED ALL STEEL DESIGN, UPSWEPT TAIL BOOM AND ALLOY TAIL VANE £110.00 POSTED IN U.K., 125.00GBP POSTED TO E.C. COUNTRIES.)

this model may need switching to braking mode in storms,   simple method is included in instructions.

Prototype chassis fitted with f/energy 5 blade rotor ( £175).

I use this model at home to charge my own battery bank.
